Jenny McCourry is an Instructor in the Department of Reading Education and Special Education (RESE) at Appalachian State University.  She holds an M.A. from Appalachian State in Reading Education as well as a B.S. in Elementary Education, also from Appalachian State University. She is National Board Certified in early childhood education and taught first grade for seven years in the North Carolina public school system before coming to teach at Appalachian. Mrs. McCourry currently teaches World Literature for Children and Foundations of Literacy for RESE.  She also serves as a University Supervisor for Clinical Interns during their student teaching semester.  Mrs. McCourry believes in making learning accessible to all students and that every child has the ability to learn but not every child learns in the same way.
