Helen, Graduate Student, Studying Special Ed

Hi! My name is Helen and I am a graduate student at Appalachian State University. I am earning my Master's in Special Education with a concentration on Emotional and Behavioral Disorders. I was born in Cary, North Carolina but I have lived in Southern California for most of my life. Fun fact about me- both of my parents are British which you would know through my pronunciation of certain words and my habit of incessant apologizing.

You may be wondering why I am telling you about myself or how this blog applies to you. My goal is to recall my experiences as an undergraduate and graduate student in the Reading and Special Education Department in the hopes that I can provide information and insight to prospective and current teacher education students. I will be covering topics such as the Praxis exam, student teaching, the Accelerated Admissions program, and more.

It is important to note that these experiences are unique to me and should be seen as a reflection rather than advice. If you have any questions, we have an
incredible staff here at RESE who are willing and happy to help.
